UGANDA GORILLA EXPEDITION - 9 DAYS UGANDA MOUNTAIN GORILLA SAFARI

 

This 9 day Uganda Gorilla Tour takes you to Uganda's best safari destinations which include Lake Mburo, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National park, Murchison Falls national park, Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary among others. The safari starts with a game viewing safari in lake Mburo National park, and later takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park from where you will track the endangered mountain gorillas. The safari later takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park for another wildlife safari and Kibale National park for a chimpanzee Trek. The safari ends with a wildlife safari in Murchsion Falls National Park and a visit to the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 1 KAMPALA - LAKE MBURO

You will be picked from Kampala in the morning after breakfast and drive across the Equator through Uganda's rolling green hills to Lake Mburo National Park (the drive will take approx. 5 hours). We shall have lunch, we will do a boat ride on Lake Mburo  and a late afternoon game drive in search of zebra, impala, eland, topi, oribi, cape buffalos, and with luck, Roan antelopes, leopards, hyenas and jackals. Dinner and over night at Rwonyo Rest Camp

Day 2   LAKE MBURO - BWINDI GORILLA FOREST

After an early breakfast at the lodge, we head through the country sides of
Kanungu and continue on to Bwindi, Impenetrable Forest National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. In the evening we shall walk to the nearby
community for a cultural performance. We overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 3    GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NP

The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to roughly half of the
world's 650 mountain gorillas. We will start hiking early with the game
rangers and do your best to find them - but remember, there is no guarantee because this is nature and the time taken hiking depends on the movement of these apes! The gorillas are shy, peaceful animals and it is an
unforgettable experience to watch and photograph these gentle giants at
close range. We return to Buhoma Community Bandas

Day4   GAM VIEWING SAFARI THROUGH ISHASAHA

After breakfast we will leave Bwindi early and depart for Queen Elizabeth
National Park.  We'll pass through the southern sector of the park known as
Ishasha, famed for its tree-climbing lions. This National Park is a UNESCO
World Biosphere and has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game
reserve in the world! Almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species can be found. Elephants, Lots of hippos, the elusive giant forest
hog and the handsome Uganda kob all regularly sighted.  In the afternoon, we will  take a visit to the crater regions. Dinner at the Institute of Ecology

Day 5 The launch cruise along the kazinga channel
Morning game drive and back to the lodge for mid morning break fast and lunch. In the afternoon go for the launch cruise along the Kazinga channel. This will expose you to diversity of schools of hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species. Back to the hostel for dinner and over night.

Day 6 CHIMP TRACKING IN KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

After a brief morning game drive, we depart after breakfast and enjoy game
viewing en-route toward Kibale Forest National Park. Take lunch In the afternoon we drive into Kibale Forest National Park to hike with a guide who will provide a detailed explanation of the primates we are likely to see as well as the forest's fauna and flora. On our half-day hike we will look for chimpanzees, phoestes, red-colobuses and red-tailed and grey cheeked
mangabeys.

Day7   MURCHISON FALLS & THE TOP OF THE FALLS

Drive to Murchison Falls national park   visit the Top of the falls on arrival Dinner and Overnight at Red Chillis Camp

Day 8   THE NILE RIVER LAUNCH CRUISE

An early Morning game drive and an after Noon launch cruise

Day 9   ZZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

Drive to Masindi and go watch Rhinos and track them. Have lunch, and then proceed to Kampala then to Entebbe for your next flight back home.

Payments and Bookings

Note:

  • Bookings for safaris should be made atleast three months in advance to facilitate reserve of permits

  • A 30% deposit is required for all tours and should be either wired on our account or paid directly using credit cards . However, for credit card payments a 10% sur charge is deducted on authorization for the deposit deduction .

ACCOMMODATION DESCRIPTION

 

In terms of accommodation, the price quote given is based on the budget and up market options. The budget type of accommodation is in basic facilities such as hotels/lodges which are structures built separate from each other and may not be self contained. In most cases these are simple basic accommodation units with clean but shared facilities such as bathrooms and toilets. Meals can either be served from canteens in some cases or in the Dinning rooms. While with the up market option, accommodation is in self contained facilities (hotels and lodges) with standard services and meals. Nevertheless,comfort is a guarantee in all.
