BIG FIVE SAFARI - 8 DAYS BIG FIVE SAFARI IN UGANDA

Day 1: KAMPALA - LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

You will be picked from Kampala in the morning after breakfast and drive across the Equator through Uganda's rolling green hills to Lake Mburo National Park (the drive will take approx. 5 hours). We shall have lunch, we will do a boat ride on Lake Mburo  and a late afternoon game drive in search of zebra, impala, eland, topi, oribi, cape buffalos, and with luck, Roan antelopes, leopards, hyenas and jackals. Dinner and over night at Rwonyo Rest Camp

Day 2: LAKE MBURO -BWINDI

After an early breakfast at the lodge, we head through the country sides of
Kanungu and continue on to Bwindi, Impenetrable Forest National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. In the evening we shall walk to the nearby
community for a cultural performance. We overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 3: GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to roughly half of the
world's 650 mountain gorillas. We will start hiking early with the game
rangers and do your best to find them - but remember, there is no guarantee because this is nature and the time taken hiking depends on the movement of these apes! The gorillas are shy, peaceful animals and it is an
unforgettable experience to watch and photograph these gentle giants at
close range. We return to Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day4: GAME VIEWING SAFARI IN QUEEN ELIZABETH THROUGH ISHASAHA

After breakfast we will leave Bwindi early and depart for Queen Elizabeth
National Park.  We'll pass through the southern sector of the park known as
Ishasha, famed for its tree-climbing lions. This National Park is a UNESCO
World Biosphere and has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game
reserve in the world! Almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species can be found. Elephants, Lots of hippos, the elusive giant forest
hog and the handsome Uganda kob all regularly sighted.  In the afternoon, we will take a visit to the crater regions. In the afternoon go for the launch cruise along the Kazinga channel. This will expose you to diversity of schools of hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species. Back to the hostel for dinner and over night.

Day 5: TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Morning game drive and back to the lodge for mid morning break fast. Then after transfer to Kibale National park for an afternoon Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park. This park has the highest diversity of primates including the Threatens Red Colobus monkeys, Black and white Colobus monkeys, the Mangabeys, the endangered chimpanzees and many others. Dinner and over night at Ndali Lodge/ Primates Lodge / Rwenzori View Guest House/ Kanyankyu tourist Centre.

Day 6     TOP OF THE FALLS AND MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK                  

Drive to Murchison Falls national park. You will pass through the verdant country side  Fortportal through Hoima to the Albertine Rift . You will arrive Murchison falls in the evening so you will be very tired. . Check in your hotel for Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Safari lodge/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Red Chillis Rest Camp

Day 7 LAUNCH TRIP ON THE NILE

An early Morning game drive and an after Noon launch cruise. Wake up very early in the morning and take a cup of coffee as you prepare for an early morning game drive in the Northern part of Murchison falls national park.  In this cool morning before the sun rises too high , you will expect encounters of   herds of Buffaloes, Elephants, Rothschild’s giraffe, prides of lions,  the Illusive leopard,  Oribis, Hartebeests, Waterbucks, Kobs, watch elephants as they graze on the grassy hillsides  and many bird species like the Nightjar.  Back in time for late breakfast. Then after relax as you wait for lunch.  In the afternoon, you will take a launch cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls, watch families of Hippos relaxing by the Nile bank, Nile crocodiles will be incubating eggs, as lots of birds stand on the backs of these mammals. You will to the lodge for dinner and over night. Dinner and over night at Paraa safari Lodge/ Nile Safari camp/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Red chillis rest camp.

Day 8    ZZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

Drive to Masindi and go watch Rhinos and track them. Have lunch, and then proceed to Kampala then to Entebbe for your next flight back home.
