UGANDA WILDLIFE SAFARI - 6 DAYS UGANDA WILDLIFE SAFARI IN QUEEN, KIBALE AND MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARKS
Day 1: Kampala – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
At 07hrs00, our tour representative will pick you up and drive you towards the west of Kampala. Along the way, you will have a stop over at the Equator where you will watch some men demonstrating an experiment to test whether water does in fact go in opposite directions down a plug hole on opposite sides of the equator. This experiment is evidence to show that the equator is the separator of the two hemispheres. Many people know that the equator is there, but being there after a short drive is worth while evidence! Take picture and then after proceed via Mbarara, Busenyi, as you watch the long Horned Ankole cattle grazing, tea plantations and people as dressed in their cultural wear. You will reach this part of the Western arm of the rift valley dressed by Savannah woodland by Lunch time. A game drive en route is rewarding with wild game like antelope, buffaloes, elephants and many other animals. Reach the Mweya Penisular and check in Mweya safari Lodge
Day 2: GAME DRIVE AND LAUNCH CRUISE ALONG THE KAZINGA CHANNEL
Take a hot cup of coffee or tea and wake up for the early riser’s game drive. As you drive, this early morning, you will see the beautiful mountains of the moon providing a superb panoramic view. Search for animals like Elephants, lions, Uganda kobs, topis, leopards, bushbucks, the Mangoose, waterbucks, and several others plus a variety of bird species and a magnificent vegetation. Return to your lodge for mid morning breakfast and after take lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel. Kazinga channel is naturally and explicitly gifted with abundance of bird species including the , papyrus gonolek, African skimmer, Pelicans , if you are luck; the rare shoebill stock and many others . And some people refer to this park as the bird watchers’ ecstasy! For it provides a good gesture for bird watching. The banks of this channel harbor plenty of hippos, crocodiles and many mammals come to take water along the shores. Return to the lodge for Dinner and over night.
DAY 3 KIBALE NP - CHIMP TRACKING
After Breakfast, with your packed lunch drive through the one of the beautiful country sides of Uganda which will expose you to the shadow of the enchanted Mountains of the Moon". Have a picnic lunch at Kanyankyu tourist centre and in the afternoon, you will report at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre where chimpanzee tracking in the park begins from. Set out in the forest in search for man's closest animal brothers the endangered chimpanzees! Here Chances of viewing the chimps are over 90% but it is not a guarantee and this will take you around 3 - 5 hours. Other primates in this forest that you will encounter are the threatened Red colobus monkey, the rare L’Hoest’s monkeys, the red tailed monkeys, Blue monkey, Grey Cheeked mangabeys, vervet and many others not leaving out butterflies. After, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 MURCHISON FALLS
This will be a long drive but rewarding!! Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to Murchison falls National park passing through the beautiful Albertine rift. Have a picnic lunch in the Albertine rift and as you approach the park you will be stopping briefly at the escarpment overlooking L. Albert. This point has the lowest Altitude 622 M (ASL). Still as you drive along Budongo forest way, you may spot Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Red Tailed and Blue Monkeys and lots of Olive Baboons may be seen. Birds like Afep Pigeons, the Nightjar, Black Billed Turacco, Great Blue and Ross’s Turaccos, Narina’s Trogon, White thigh Hornbills, African Green Pigeons and Nahan’s Francolin may also be seen.
Proceed for dinner and over night at Sambiya River Lodge
Day 5 LAUNCH CRUISE ALONG THE RIVER NILE
Wake up very early in the morning and take a cup of coffee as you prepare for an early morning game drive in the Northern part of Murchison falls national park. In this cool morning before the sun rises too high , you will expect encounters of herds of Buffaloes, Elephants, Rothschild’s giraffe, prides of lions, the Illusive leopard, Oribis, Hartebeests, Waterbucks, Kobs, watch elephants as they graze on the grassy hillsides and many bird species like the Nightjar. Back in time for late breakfast. Then after relax as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a launch cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls, watch families of Hippos relaxing by the Nile bank, Nile crocodiles will be incubating eggs, as lots of birds stand on the backs of these mammals. You will return to your lodge for dinner and over night.
Optional : If you have the ability to hike to the top of the falls, (1 hours hike) The launch will drop you at the cliff on the right side of the bottom of the falls. With the accompaniment of a guide, you will hike for the top of the falls. Simple hiking shoes and water. The walk is a little bit strenuous however once you reach the top, you will realize that it is a worthwhile as you witness water plunging from a gorge that is 5o metres wide down into a narrow gorge of a 7 metres width...
On this evening, if you did not hike to the top of the falls, drive to the Top of the Falls.
DAY 6
After breakfast,. After leave nothing but a foot print and take nothing but a souvenir and a photo, transfer to Kampala. Lunch en route.
